Just got off the phone with Dave - emotions are running strong, but they are all in one piece and so glad to be done.
I asked him how they did it and such a good finish too and he said because of the strength of his teammates.Â
I am soooo proud of the whole team, Kristen, Dave, Miles, JD, Warren, Kristine, Clint and Maddie.
Sounds so sweet - TOP 10 !!!!!
Congrats guys.

G-morning and today we finish this thing! The team slept about an hour at Ennis and are on track to finish next.Â
5 miles out and counting down!
They are right on the bubble of top 10 but just even getting to the end of this race is well -
Wow!

Seems like tracking is good for the moment and from my calculations our team is between 6 and 8 miles away from CP 30, traveling closely with Goals ARA # 82 - This is the last transition and CP before home sweet home. The current plan from the support crew is to help them as much as possible and then send them on their way.
Long night for eveyone - and to help keep me up tonight,  I just read on the main blog there has been a grizzly in the neighborhood. Glad they can’t read this.

Just got word from the support crew and the team had a little mishap while chasing the O points. Kristen took an unexpected dip in a stream and needed some time to warm back up. They spent some time sleeping and regrouping but the good news is they found all the flags - hence 12 hours will be detracted from their end time. whoo hoo!
They had a big breakfast and are on the last hike of the race and word is it ain’t an easy one …
Support Crew is estimating a finish time of tomorrow night - if all systems keep firing.
Cross your fingers, hold your breath, do a little finish dance or prayer - whatever takes to get these guys home safe and sound is what they need now.

Interesting things going on now. Always in a race there are races within that race. Some people, when they hear someone coming up behind them find that extra gear to kick it up a notch instead of stepping aside.
By doing the O course and finding a lot of checkpoints our team could pick up an hour (actually deducted from their time) for every one they find. And teams could, if they want just keep going and not pick up any “extra credit”. At this point, a bit of a chess game starts. Should we stay looking or should we go? How many hours of sleep do we have banked to call upon… How sharp are we?
It looks like most of teams around Oceanic have decided to try and find some extra points. Our friends ACG/GORE-TEX decided to pass the points on by.
If everyone hangs on, it is a race to finish for sure. GO TEAM!

Tracking is down - arrgg - but just got a call from Clint and our team is on the O course. Tired but still going strong. They got 5 hours of sleep and then smoked the bike leg.
Support Crew does not expect to have contact again for another 8 hours. Does someone know who at Spot I can send my therapy bill to when the tracking stops!!
Clint is passing on all your comments - Thanks everyone! Home stretch here we come.

Just spoke to Dave and the team is in a really good way. Cleaned up and bedding down at 6:30 PST for a nap then on to the next bike leg.
In our conversation Dave could not add 4 plus 7 but he could rave about their Support Crew. Clint, Warren and Kristine - you guys are the angles of the team. Thanks for taking such good care of our
questers!
Funny side note - Clint tapped Dave’s foot while Dave was completely asleep. Clint said it was the hardest thing he ever did. Put that in your final examinations for PT school - Pacific University.
When Dave woke up from a dream about feet and … - Clint was that last thing he expected to see.
